We’ve been hanging out a lot with Peter’s preschool friends, Jacob and Nicholas. I wish we had started this earlier in the year since preschool ends in just 2 weeks.

Even Peter’s neighbor friend, Hunter, showed up so Peter was among all his bestest friends:

I finally forced myself to finish my pictures from our vacation. It was so overwhelming going through the 600 or so photos I took. Sometimes I miss the restrictions of film cameras. I need to remind myself that just because I can fit hundreds of photos on one digital card, it doesn’t mean I have to. Anyway, we had a great vacation and I could see us visiting Florida every year. Especially with the new non-stop flights JetBlue offers us. I can get roundtrip airfare for $200, whereas it’s about $160 to the Los Angeles area. Florida offers nicer hotels for cheaper prices and warm beach water so it’s a winner to me.

July 4th Weekend Update - Part 2

Mike had Friday off so we headed to Gilroy Gardens theme park. We met our neighbor (the twins) there. I bragged about how the park never has any lines for rides. Well of course this time it was packed. We had to leave early for an eye doctor appt so we ended up not getting to ride everything. Still the kids had fun together and I enjoyed hanging out with another couple with kids.

On Saturday, we took Peter to the park to rollerskate for the first time. He enjoyed it but it was more work than he expected (like riding a bike without training wheels). He gets frustrated easily so he was done after about 20mins.

We also spent a lot of the weekend in the pool:

It’s also our 8th wedding anniversary. Time flies when you’re having fun! To celebrate our anniversary we went on a date to see Wall-E. It’s a cute movie but not my favorite Pixar animation. We also went to Gilroy Gardens again yesterday:

On the rides:

We did the water park as well this time:

I’ve added our old picture/trip slideshows to the right side nav, including our Wedding from 2000 and our trip to Hawaii last year. At some point I’ll go back and update my non-Flash slideshows to Flash.

We drove down to Gilroy Gardens theme park with two of Peter’s playgroup buddies. The park was about an hour away so we all carpooled to save on gas.

Shutterbugs:

I almost gave Claudia (Indigo’s mom) a heart attack when I stepped on/killed a bee (on purpose). She was so upset. Oops! She probably wouldn’t talk to me anymore if she knew how many spiders I’ve killed in my lifetime.

Peter’s favorite ride - driving a car of course:

Driving the 1950’s car: (notice all the swerving back and forth)

Driving in the 1920’s car. Peter kept asking where the car wash was. It turns out they didn’t have one for these cars. Guess I should’ve figured they didn’t have car washes in 1920:

After 3 times riding the cars, we rode some other rides:

Refueling - Peter ate that all himself: (And yes I cut his hair myself)

The park rides are geared for age 12 and under so it was far less crowded than a normal theme park. I loved that about it. We never had to wait in lines. We stayed for 5 hrs and still didn’t ride everything. They even have a water park as well. I liked the park so much that I bought season passes. I just wish it was closer to us.
